Here at Butterfly Nursery we recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their children.  All of our practitioners see themselves as partners with you in providing care and education for your child. We will always keep you informed of your child's progress.  Each child will have an individual Learning Story which will be a record of their experiences at the Nursery.  Parents are able to look through their child's Learning Story at any time simply by asking their key person.  There are many ways in which parents can take part in making the setting a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents, such as:

   exchanging knowledge about their children's needs, activities, interests and progress with the staff;
helping out during sessions, regularly or at one of our Mothers' Day or  Fathers' Day events;
sharing your own special interests with the children - e.g. policeman, nurse,  singing, storytelling or dancing;
helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in  the children's play activities;
read to your child or play a sharing or turn-taking game at home;
taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by the setting; and
building friendships with other parents in the setting.
